This nifty device includes a microwave oven that is incorporated into a range hood that is installed over the oven. The fact that they offer an excellent way to save space in the kitchen is the number one reason so many people purchase microwave range hoods.

You can find any combination of expensive and intricate to cheaper and simple depending on your budget and desires. Standard for most models are a two-speed fan, a night-light feature, and a feature-rich microwave.

The best option is usually a vented one because this way steam and cooking odors are carried away. Non-vented models vent back into the kitchen through a charcoal filter which removes smoke and odors.

What you really want to buy is a deeper model that has a hood that will cover the entire length of the stove from back to front, or as much of it as possible. Be sure you know where the vents are located or you’ll have a problem cleaning them in the models that have positioned them in areas that are hard to reach.
