Year Of The Forests

2011 has been officially deemed the ‘International Year of Forests’ by the United Nations.

It was named this in order to raise awareness and strengthen the ecological forest management, conservation and sustainable development of all types of forests for the benefit of current and future generations.

The UN has openly invited the world community to work together in 2011 with world governments, non-governmental associations, and the private sector to make a concerted effort to raise awareness and to strengthen conservation and sustainable development of all forests. (more…)
